San Francisco

Today my husband and I went to Alameda,(which is the Island next to Oakland off SanFrancisco.) Our purpose for going was to visit "Needle in a Haystack" They have just recently moved there. It took some finding but was worth the trouble. It is a very large store with lots of "goodies" I could have spent hours there, but unfortunately DH was getting fed up. I did mange to purchase a couple of patterns which I will share with you on my return to Australia. We leave here at 11.30 pm tomorrow night to fly home.

Visit to USA

As some of you may know I have just spent the last three weeks with Susan my daughter and family. During that time she gave me a tutorial on how to blog and how to add pictures. At this time I do not have any pictures to share with you, but I hope to have some when i return to Australia at the weekend. Whilst with Susan I started a new project, not that I got much done but I will be on to it as soon as I settle back home.

Shelagh's Neighbourhood

I still have not found out how to put photos on the blog. I tried and it ended on my Facebook. Then again apparently I am not using Facebook correctly. I am going to visit Son and family in Queensland in two weeks will take my lap top so that he can give me a few lessons. He also has an Apple Mac.

My stitching project at the moment is a quilt with lots of stitching on it, the theme being "Breast of Friends" I am doing it as a Block of the Month with six other ladies. Not sure when I will get it finished, I am dragging my feet and not keeping up with the monthly work. I have also been making a couple of table runners. The photos will come eventually.

I have just read Susan's blog (My daughter), and she has asked that people think about me as I start my chemo. The response has been very heart warming, and I thank everyone for their prayers and support. I am going into hospital this morning to have a 'Port" fitted, this will be just under the skin and the chemo will be fed directly into it. Then tomorrow I have my first dose of chemo. I will be taking stitiching in with me, but the light is not good enough for me to work on LHN SAL . I promise as soon as I feel up to it I will enclose photos to let you see that I still do stitch.

surgery

Thank you to every one that has sent good wishes for my operation. Part of the breast was removed and some lymph nods. After a biopsy the breast is clear but the lymph nodes are showing signs of cancerous cells. I will have to have chemo on these, but this wont happen for a couple fo weeks. I see the surgeon on Thursday and he will refer me to a oncologist. At the moment I am not able to stitch on my Neighbourhood piece, it is too heavy for my arm to suuport so i am just doing very small pieces at the moment Will keep you posted. thank you to every one.
